» how to dismantle a xda orbit I
17 Aug, 2008 - 9:06 PM - by noney82
As promised here is the write up showing you how to take your orbit I apart. I found out how to do this after my missus put my orbit in the washing machine. lucky for me it still works, i don't think it would of done if i wouldn't of took it apart.

I found this very easy to do as long as you take your time and be gentle you have nothing to worry about.
You need a T5 torx screw driver and a small flat bladed screwdriver and if your doing it on a table use a towel to protect your parts. Sorry for the pictures they were taken on a poor camera phone but you will get the idea when you start to take yours apart

» Winterface - a new shell application for Windows
16 Jul, 2008 - 8:47 AM - by m@rtyn
Now thats an odd name! Winterface. At first I thought it was something to do with snowmen. But then it dawned on me; W(indows)interface. OK, has a nice ring to it. And as the chilly name suggests, this is a COOL piece of kit.

So, what is Winterface? It is a shell program. Similar idea as SPB Mobile Shell but done totally different. It sits comfortably on top of Windows Mobile and lets you run things how you want them to run. And if you donīt like it, un-install it. It leaves no trace behind and WM works like it did before. Not that you are likely to want to uninstall it once youīve tried it out.

» FunContact 2.5 From VITO Technology
06 Jul, 2008 - 5:15 PM - by m@rtyn
Remember the "good old days" when you used to have a little address book in your pocket and if you wanted to make a phone call on the move, you had to find a phone box? Seems like a life-time away. These days, virtually everyone has a mobile in their pocket and all their phone numbers stored somewhere in the phones memory. Long gone are the days of the "Little black book". When was the last time you bought an address book? All my addresses are saved to Outlook and synced to my phone and my PDA.

Windows Mobile comes with a contacts program, as we all know. And, as we all also know, itīs not really that great. There are one or two good freeware contact progs available, such as PocketCM. But... [Read More]

» VITO Technology FunContact 2.15
30 Jun, 2008 - 9:04 AM - by m@rtyn
The boffins at Vito Technology just keep making things better and better! News just in is that the rather spiffing FunContact has been up-dated and has a new look business skin added to it. And once again, the people at Vito have been listening to what the customer wants. Always a good sign! So now they have added joystick support to the list of features. So, if you donīt want to scroll using your finger, you can now do so using the joypad.

So if you are looking for a great Contacts app that has just about everything in it, look no further. And with the addition of the new business skin, it fits in nicely with the rest of the Vito range of apps. More details below.

» GPS Speed Sentry
22 Jun, 2008 - 9:08 AM - by m@rtyn
I spend a fair bit of time looking around the interweb searching for new stuff or stuff that looks interesting (well, to me anyway). Which is how I stumbled across this great piece of software from tchart development.

As the name suggests, it is a GPS utility. It watches your speed for you and warns you when you are near the speed limit or go over it. There are 6 pre-defined limits but these can be altered to suit your local conditions. For example, one of the pre-defined limits is 40 (I use km/h but you can set for mph too), no use to me so I changed it to 30 as there are a lot of built up zones here that only allow 30 kmh.
